Ford Excursion Picture

The 2006 2007 Ford Excursion SUV is the largest vehicle in the Ford fleet, and it boasts class-leading interior volume and cargo space, comfortable seating for seven, and room enough for about 12. Currently, the Excursion comes in four distinct models:

  • Excursion XLT

  • XLT Premium

  • Eddie Bauer

  • Excursion Limited

For information about any of these models, or to check out some of the latest 2006 2007 Ford Excursion XLT accessories, please be sure to keep your browser pointed right here, and please come back again soon, since we update our content every month.

At the heart of the 2006 2007 Excursion models are Ford’s most powerful engines ever.

  • On the Excursion XLT, you’ll find a 5.4-liter SOHC SEFI V8 that produces 255 horsepower at 4,500 rpm and delivers 350 pounds-per-foot of torque at 2,500 rpm.

  • On the Excursion XLT Premium, there’s a 6.8-liter SOHC SEFI V10 that produces 310 horsepower at 4,250 rpm and delivers 425 pounds-per- foot of torque at 3,250 rpm.

  • On the Excursion Eddie Bauer, there’s a 6.0-liter, 32-valve Power Stroke diesel engine that produces 325 horsepower at 3,300 rpm and delivers 560 pounds-per-foot of torque at 2,000 rpm.

  • On the Excursion Limited, there’s a 7.3-liter Power Stroke V8 that produces 250 horsepower at 2,600 rpm and delivers 525 pounds-per- foot of torque at 1,600 rpm.

Excursion performance is further improved by a number of other features, including standard sequential multi-port fuel injection, four or five speed automatic transmissions, gas pressured shocks, four-wheel antilock disc brakes, and power rack-and-pinion steering. Perhaps the most impressive of the 2006 2007 Ford Excursion specs are the towing statistics: every Excursion SUV can tow up to 20,000 pounds.

As you can see from the Excursion picture above, the SUV looks good, too. On the outside, standard features and amenities include:

  • Chrome painted bumpers

  • Platinum grilles

  • Crystalline headlamps

  • Amber rear parking lights

  • Rear tri-doors

  • Roof racks

  • Tow hooks

  • Illuminated running boards

Inside the Excursion SUV, the features continue, and include such items as: cloth drivers side memory seats, 60/40 split-folding second-row seats, removable third-row seats, rear auxiliary air conditioning, 80- watt sound systems, power adjustable pedals, reverse sensing system, rear floor heating ducts, dual power heated mirrors, color-keyed sun visors, passenger assist handles, coat hooks, auxiliary power points, and, of course, a cargo net with tie downs. There are even a bunch of available Ford Excursion accessories, including roof racks, step rails, and more.

Perhaps most importantly, however, Ford experts say the 2006 2007 Ford Excursion is safe. The SUV offers Second Generation driver and passenger airbags, the LATCH child tether system, childproof side door locks, SecuriLock passive antitheft system, and remote keyless entry. With all of these safety features, and all of the wonders of Excursion performance, it’s no surprise so many Excursion reviews are so positive.
