2006 2007 Mazda Tribute 4WD i Pictures and Specs    Price Quote    Mileage

The Mazda Tribute 4 WD i gets a makeover for 2006 2007, receiving a new four-cylinder engine, a revised interior, updated styling and a confusing new naming scheme. The Mazda Tributes will be on sale for 2006 2007. The Tribute 4WD i is equipped with a new 2.3-liter inline four cylinder engine that makes about 160 horsepower, putting it squarely on par with competitors such as the Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander and Toyota RAV4. The Mazda Tribute i is available in base or DX form, with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, tugged along by the front wheels. The four-wheel-drive system is new this year, a fully automatic setup that transfers power from the front wheels to the rear wheels when slippage is detected at the front tires. Also new is a revised interior that contains a center console with a floor shifter, replacing the previous Tribute's column-mounted stalk selector.

The Mazda Tribute 4 WD i has second-generation front airbags have been added, and there's an optional side curtain airbag system that remains inflated for an extended period of time in the event of a rollover accident. Standard equipment now includes a 60/40 split-folding rear seat and a rear center three-point seatbelt. Sirius satellite radio is optional. Revised cabin trimmings include silver metallic accents, new instrument panel controls, revised cloth upholstery and special simulated black maple interior trim. Outside, Mazda has successfully improved upon the old Tribute's styling. Lights are new front and rear, but somehow they are less distinctive. The grille is modified, but the changes are barely evident. The side cladding is plain, losing some of the definition found on the original. And the new alloy wheels are silver painted rather than machine finished, giving the SUV a downscale appearance that it did not possess before.
