 At the heart of every 2006 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is one of the toughest engines on the road today. Both the barebones Mitsubishi models and the more sophisticated Montero Limited model come standard with 3.8-liter, cast-iron, SOHC, 24-valve V-6 engines that produce 215 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and deliver 248 pounds-per-foot of torque at 3,250 rpm. That, however, is just the beginning.Offers front independent double wishbone suspension with coil springs, and rear independent multi-link suspension with coil springs as
well. It's hard to imagine anything weighing 4,600 pounds as light on its feet. But with a unibody construction giving it a low center of gravity, and precise, responsive steering, floats like a butterfly over the tough stuff. Safety features include: rack-and-pinion steering, RISE unibody chassis, front and rear crumple zones, Active Trac drive system, MultiMode anti-lock braking system, and the Mitsubishi Active Skid and Traction Control System.
Standard exterior features include: skid plates for the four-wheel-drive transfer case, 16-inch alloy wheels, color-keyed grille, integrated fog lights, and tow hooks, to name a few. Standard interior features consist of equally touted amenities, such as: leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, three 12-volt accessory outlets, passenger assist grips, cruise control, and more. Finally, new for this year, 2006 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander accessories outnumber all of these features put together, and include such bells and whistles as a grille guard, bike carrier, hood protector, sunroof wind deflector, cargo organizer, and license plate frame. On the one hand, with a disappearing third-row seat, this is a full-sized SUV with room for seven full-sized people to ride in luxury. On the other hand, with its legendary off-road capability, it is also an SUV that truly relishes rugged adventure
The 2006 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander offers a roomy and comfortable interior, a benefit of its long wheelbase. We found all controls easy to operate. Getting in and out is easy. You neither have to climb up nor stoop down to get inside. Once seated, you have a commanding vantage similar to that in a minivan. Low-slung sports cars have low h-points, while tall SUVs and 4X4 pickup trucks have high h-points. Once in, there's a good amount of headroom for taller drivers.The seats use high-density foam padding and the standard cloth is nice. The driver's seat offers height adjustment and effective lumbar support. The optional leather seats are an option on the model, and they feel a little firmer; the package also includes heated seats and side-impact airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger. The passenger seat and the back seat are comfortable and the vehicle feels confident, making it a good place to spend the miles. Both front seats feature seatbelt pretensioner and force-limiter technology, which can help reduce injuries in an accident.
